The family owned, A Personal Elf, began with a simple idea of giving more time for the enjoyment of life.
Meet Erica, Founder & The Original Elf
Erica Castano, Founder of Gainesville's A Personal Elf – Maid & Concierge Services, recognized that a great majority of families work long hours and are spending less time together every day. On top of long hours, families live stress filled lives and when they come home, there is still so much to do. From laundry cleaning and folding, to mopping the floors and dusting the furniture; the lists just got longer and longer.
Erica, having a family of two beautiful daughters, Jordan and Alexa, felt strongly about family time.
How it Started
Erica was working long hours as a consultant when she realized that all of her time was being consumed by work, which left very little time for her and her family, so she decided to hire someone to help her with all of those tasks that consumed even more of her valuable time.
She began calling maid services and cleaning/concierge companies in hopes that could help her with home cleaning, and task / errand help. She quickly found that there was not a single “one-stop-shop” service to support her needs. As a matter of fact, she would need about 5 separate services from different companies to help her manage her busy home life.
That immediately sparked an idea – She thought:
“What if I can clear my busy schedule, make my own hours, and help others in a similar situation while spending more time with my family?”
She started doing some digging and that there was a gap in these services for Gainesville and surrounding areas, so she decided to solve the problem herself.
That day, she put in her notice at her job and started her entrepreneurial journey in December of 2008.
12 Years Later, we’re still doing our absolute best to provide quality cleaning and concierge services to our local community to not only guarantee a best in class experience, but to help you free up your time so you can spend time doing what you love. Living Life Fabulously.
